After all of the skiing one will be participating in, it is only natural that you will look to replenish your energy at one of Verbier’s many fantastic restaurants. The resort caters for absolutely everyone and has everything from Fondue (obviously) to Asian cuisine (less obvious in a ski resort).
Below you will find a handful of the best restaurants in and around Verbier depending on what you are looking for.
On the mountain
Probably the most important categories for all skiers and snowboarders a like. These are where you can relax after a morning of activity and refuel yourself for the afternoon.
Igloo du Mont Fort
The home of “the highest place to eat fondue”, Igloo is located at the top of Verbier’s highest peak, Mont Fort. Enjoy great food at 3,300 m while taking in breath-taking views of the alp’s highest peaks. Can you spot the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc? Accessible to everyone via the cable-car but make sure you are comfortable skiing black runs to get back down.

Le Dahu
This restaurant is probably our instructors favourite spot. It is split across two floors, the ground floor is a self-service area and the first floor, a seated service facility. It has absolutely everything and you will struggle not to find something you don’t like. Our favourite thing about this spot is the stunning, southerly view of the Vallee de Bagnes which can be enjoyed on one of the bean bags on the terrace.

Chez Dany
Hidden away in the Hameau de Clambin just above Verbier you will find a great spot for both lunch and dinner. Accessible via an itinerary piste during the day but can also be walked to through the forest starting at Verbier. In the evening they also provide a snow taxi (think piste groomer minus the shovel on the front). Yu will be treated to incredible views of the Grand-Combin while taking in traditional swiss food and fantastic wine. A homely feel to the restaurant and when visiting in the evening don’t forget your sledges, it makes the descent a lot more enjoyable!

La Vache
Keep your eyes peeled at this restaurant for it’s three famous owners – British superbike world champion Carl Fogarty, Rugby world cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio and singer James Blunt. Located at the top of the Attelas chairlift, this restaurant offers a great lunch menu a long with a cosy wooden interior.

As an extra little treat, I have decided to throw in an additional two restaurants that can be found up on the hill that reside outside of Verbier. As we are part of the famous 4 Vallees resort it only seemed right that you would hope to travel from Verbier to Thyon – the furthest resort you can reach in the entirety of the ski area.
Combatseline – Siviez
Now this restaurant tends to be enjoyed as a late lunch spot when on your return journey of your adventure across all the 4 Vallees. Located above Siviez on the Greppon Blanche mountain at the top of the Novelly chairlift, this restaurant provides traditional delicacies of the Valais. With an enormous terrace on the Easterly and southern face of the building, you will be able to bask in the sunshine while enjoying the view of the Nendaz valley.
Le Tipi – Thyon
A fantastically fun bar located at the end of your 4 Vallees excursion making it a great place to relax and refuel before making the journey back to Verbier. As the name states, this bar is one large Tipi surrounded by a large terrace with an additional fast food cabin. With live music throughout the day and great staff members this place is a lovely area for a quick pit stop. With pizza, sandwiches, burgers, crepes and more being served from 10 am it is easy to forget about your homeward journey so you must resist the exciting atmosphere so to make it back to Verbier in time.

Family friendly
Shed
Their menu is simple, the best burgers with locally sourced ingredients. In between Place central and Medran lift station this restaurant has a great atmosphere with an experience team to help you enjoy your dining experience. A very family friendly establishment making it one of the top picks for children to visit while parents being able to enjoy a great meal at the same time.
Offshore Café
This surf & snowboard inspired café is only a stone throw away from Medran making it a great Lunch and Dinner spot for hungry skiers. They have a wide range of items on their menu from burgers, wraps, milkshakes, spaghetti bolognese and many more fantastic dishes. A simple yet great menu where the whole family can enjoy. Also note that this is our partner for our children’s ski lessons lunch club, so it has our stamp of approval.
Al Capone
The well-known pizza and grill restaurant located just above Place Central has a great atmosphere and a great selection of pizza, grilled meats, mountain specialities and much more. Friendly staff and fantastic family atmosphere make it a fan favourite for all families.
Traditional Valais
If there is anything Switzerland is famous for then it must be its selection of different cheese’s and what goes hand in hand with skiing? Correct, Fondue! We have put together a selection of great Fondue spots here in Verbier as well as other traditional specialities famous within the region of Valais.
Relais de Neige
Located just above our office and the meeting point for all our group lessons, the Relais de Neige is perfectly located opposite the Medran lift station. With a large selection of different fondue options and a formidable south facing terrace it really is hard to beat this place. I highly recommend the traditional Fondue here.
Le Caveau
As you enter the restaurant through its quirky barrel shaped door you are welcomed by traditional swiss chalet décor and a friendly team of staff. Le Caveau has 250 different types of cheese within its cheese cellar which is all located within the region from producers spread within a 150 km perimeter. Known for its delicious Fondue and famed for the ‘best raclette in Verbier’, this restaurant shouldn’t be missed by cheese lovers.
Le Carrefour
As the oldest dining establishment in Verbier they know how to provide a traditional experience for all their diners. Located at the highest accessible point in Verbier, it boasts a splendid view of the whole town and the valley below. Not only does it specialise in Fondue, but it has mastered the traditional swiss dish, the Rosti. A fan favourite is the Rosti ‘Creblet’.
Exclusive dining
If you are looking for something a little extra special, then the following options will make for a great addition when visiting the resort.
Vie Montagne
This members club specialises in fine dining in the centre of Verbier. Located on the Rue de Medran their menu encompasses locally sourced produce and offers its diners an exceptional experience of flavours. If you have the time, you can also visit their in-house brewery and sample some of their homemade beer.
La Marlenaz
This secluded mountain restaurant is located at 1895 meters offering panoramic views of Verbier as well as its surrounding peaks. Only accessible via foot or snowmobile, this restaurant boasts a fantastic menu of revisited traditional dishes with locally sourced ingredients all to be enjoyed in a breath-taking setting.

Private Chef
Why go to the hassle of visiting a restaurant for great food when you can have it prepared in your own kitchen. Verbier has some of the best chef’s in the world pass through every winter who will be more than happy to work with you to produce exceptional meals in the comfort of your own chalet. We have a number of chef’s available to us so if this is something you would like then we can definitely put you in touch with exactly what you’re looking for.
Quick and Easy
Pub Mont Fort
Possibly the cheapest pint in the whole of Switzerland during its happy hour, this well-known pub situated next to Medran lift station is a great spot to visit after a day of skiing. Along with an unlimited menu of drinks it also has a busy kitchen that offers fantastic food options. The Nachos and loaded cheese fries are a personal favourite of ours.
Medran Café
This grab and go café found within Medran lift station is a perfect lunch and after ski spot to refuel before carrying on with your day’s activities. Lots of great food on offer including paninis, sandwiches and croc monsieur.
Vegetarian
Fer a Cheval
Perfectly located on Rue de Medran and one of Verbier’ s well known establishments. With a great terrace and apre-ski scene it makes it a great place to visit. Known for its European cuisine and array of vegetarian dishes – it’s vegetarian lasagne is its most popular dish.
Arctic Juice and Café
Attached to the W hotel this café is a great place for fresh and healthy dishes. It’s ‘Energy Kitchen’ delivers great Salads, sandwiches and well-known brunch options. Only a short walk away from Medran makes it a great place to nip into before a hard days skiing.
