Ski and Snowboard Lessons
The price of ski and snowboard lessons can vary greatly, depending on which country you are in, which resort you go to and whether you are wishing to book group lessons or private lessons.
It is also worth bearing in mind that different companies will have different prices depending on the quality of instructors. In some countries, there are laws, such as France, that require qualifications before you can be teaching, ensuring that you will only ever ski with a qualified instructor.
In Switzerland there are no such laws, which means that technically, anyone could work as a ski instructor. However, schools such as ours, will require a minimum qualification and experience before allowing instructors to work.
It is worth noting that the quality of instructors and instruction that you will receive, is often reflected in the price that you pay for the lesson so just be wary and ask questions if you are looking at the lower price bracket in a Swiss ski resort.
Likewise, group lessons may seem more expensive or less expensive when comparing schools so make sure you look at how many days it is running, how long for and also how many are in the group. It may be that one school have a max of 8 like us, or they may have up to 12 in which case there is less focus on each individual, however the price will be less expensive.
If you are looking for economically priced lessons, group lessons are a great option whichever school or resort you choose.
These often run for a number of days on a half-day or full-day basis and allow you to ski or snowboard with other people of the same age and ability level. The instructors will be able to tailor the lesson to your needs whilst also teaching the group as a whole, keeping the cost down for everyone.
Our schools in Verbier, Grindelwald, and Wengen offer group lessons and you can book a few days or a full week, depending on which you prefer.
The below gives you an idea of some of the prices you can expect to pay:
- Verbier – 5 half days from 9am – 12pm – CHF 400 per person

If you prefer one to one tuition, private lessons are a great option. These are really flexible in many ways, for example, the length of the lesson, we run lessons from 2 hours up to 7 hours so you can plan your lesson around your lunch reservations, family time and more.
We can also meet you at a convenient location rather than a set point, whether that be your hotel, the main lift or perhaps a restaurant where you’re eating lunch and want to ski from for the afternoon.
Private lessons also allow you to mix it up, with maybe some shorter lessons and some longer, spread over a number of days but allowing you to keep the same instructor throughout.
