Hit the Slopes Prepared: Essential Questions to Ask When Booking a Ski Lesson
Are you gearing up for an exhilarating adventure this winter? Booking a ski or snowboard lesson is an essential step toward mastering the slopes and making the most of your winter getaway. To ensure you’re set for success, it’s crucial to ask the right questions when scheduling your lesson.
At Altitude Ski & Snowboard School, we understand the importance of a well-rounded mountain experience. Here are some key questions to consider before booking your lesson:
1. What’s Your Skill Level?
Understanding your skill level is paramount in tailoring the lesson to your needs. Are you a beginner seeking your first turns, an intermediate looking to refine technique, or an advanced skier or snowboarder aiming to conquer challenging terrain? No matter what level you are, it’s always useful to check out our level guide. The more we know about you and your ability level, the better fit your instructor can be.

2. Who is the Lesson For?
Is it for yourself, an adult friend or a child? Whether it’s child-friendly instructors for young learners (ages 3+ for groups, 2+ for privates) or matching nervous adults with patient instructors, the more information we have, the better we can match you with the perfect instructor for a more enjoyable lesson.
3. Group or Private Lesson?
Determine whether a group lesson with fellow enthusiasts or a personalised private session better suits your learning style and goals. Each option offers unique advantages, from camaraderie in group lessons to focused attention in private sessions.

4. Meeting Point
Make sure you confirm the designated meeting point for the lesson. Knowing where to meet your instructor ensures a smooth start to your session and avoids any confusion. For group lessons there is always a designated meeting point, where as for private lessons the instructor can meet you at your accommodation or elsewhere in resort.
5. Lesson Duration and Schedule
Understand the duration and frequency of lessons. Determine if the schedule aligns with your holiday plans and whether additional sessions or extended lesson times are available.
6. Equipment and Gear
Our lessons don’t include equipment rental so if you’re unsure, make sure to enquire about specific gear requirements for the lesson. If you’re taking an alternative ski lesson, such as a ski-touring or off-piste lesson, make sure you know exactly what you specialised equipment you need as they are different to regular ski lessons.

7. Cancellation Policies
Be aware of the cancellation policies. Life can be unpredictable, so understanding the terms and conditions regarding cancellations or changes in schedule is essential.
By asking these questions, you’ll not only be better prepared for your lesson but also ensure a rewarding and enjoyable experience on the slopes. At Altitude Ski & Snowboard School, we’re committed to providing exceptional skiing and snowboarding education and a memorable mountain adventure.
